Los Angeles: Upcoming true crime film Long Island Bank Robber’s cast announced. ‘Friday Night Lights’ fame Taylor Kitsch, ‘The White Lotus’ actor Alexandra Daddario, and Hollywood sensation Christopher Walken have boarded.
Kitsch is to appear as Stephen Trantel, ‘a successful Wall Street commodities trader’. Trantel lose his job and tries desperately to keep his family afloat on the journey. The real-life robber was arrested in 2003, thus making his story that of a most-discussed bank robber on Long Island. That’s the core plot of the movie too.
Daddario will play Jeanne Trantel, Stephen’s ‘discerning wife who grows increasingly suspicious of her husband and yearns to pave her own path outside of the home,'. Meanwhile, Walken is set to feature as Stephen’s father, a retired police officer with a strong ethical code, adding to the movie’s overall tension.
Directed by Matthew Gentile, known for ‘American Murderer’, the film is produced by Vince Jolivette and Richie Hill of Filmopoly, Chris Bellant of Vision Entertainment and Danielle Gasher under Vaneast Pictures, according to the entertainment news outlet Deadline.
"'The Long Island Bank Robber' is a true story I learned about in my youth, growing up in New York City as a true-crime obsessive, " the filmmaker said in a statement.
"A propulsive heist film on the surface, the story also tackles complex themes of grief, survival, and marriage. With Taylor, Alexandra, and Christopher as our three leads, I could not have dreamed of a better cast to bring this film," he added.
Executive producers on the film include Kitsch, Andres Budnik, Liam Scholey, Raymond Kimsey, Matt Allen, D Reardon, Kyle Fox, Alan B. Bursteen and Dawn Bursteen.
